Common causes
What's actually wrong
Samsung 4E / 4C
Water inlet — clogged screen at the hose, low water pressure, or bad inlet valve. Usually quick clear.
Samsung OE / 5E
Drain issue — clogged hose, drain pump, or pump filter.
LG OE
Drain pump or hose issue — same as Samsung OE.
LG LE
Stator/rotor failure on direct-drive washers. Documented fix.
LG UE
Unbalanced load. Sometimes worn shocks on older units.
Whirlpool F21
Long drain — drain pump or restricted drain. Most common Whirlpool front-load code.
Whirlpool F35 / Sud
Pressure switch (F35) or excess detergent (Sud).
Maytag MD codes
Manufacturer diagnostic — same parts platform as Whirlpool.
Before you call
Quick checks you can do
- Note the exact code (some look similar — 4E vs E4 are different).
- Try a cancel + restart cycle first. Sometimes codes clear on their own after a successful cycle.
- If it's a drain code, run drain & spin and check for water actually leaving the unit.
When to call us
Error codes are starting points, not endings. We diagnose the actual failure (which part, not which code) — often the displayed code is misleading. Call with the code and we'll usually know what to bring.
